Underbelts Divisions

A-0-Special young kids division
Text Box: AGES 3-6 YEARS OLD DIVISION
       These kids pay for one division but do two competitions and get one award after all are finished.
       Free-style Kata (15 second time limit); super-sparring (A-0, 3-6) –sparring 3ft. apart without equipment. All participants will get the same size award. This is no contact!
*six year olds must choose the un-rated or the rated division as they can’t compete in both.
A perfect way to introduce your child to competition!
They will receive their trophy in that same ring, one at a time, while everyone claps.

A-00-Special young kids division

Text Box: For the young beginners!
 Flag Sparring
( for kids 8yrs & under who have not yet learned fighting skills) 
A-00 Flag sparring for ages 8 and under-every competitor gets an award. Two flags per competitor.  One minute round or until both flags are grabbed.  Flag sparring competitors can’t do regular sparring. You can't compete in this division and A-0 unless you pay for both divisions.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Forms Definition:

Traditional - Any form with traditional techniques of any commonly accepted art or style

Open - Any form (Traditional or creative)

Creative - Made up forms and altered traditional forms only (no music)

Novice are usually white, yellow, oranges. In our style, Chun Kuk Do, it also includes purple belts.

All Martial Arts America Dragons are considered Novice. Intermediates are greens and blues.
Advanced are browns and  reds. However,since many schools have different programs and belt colors,
this break-down may not apply to you.

Check with your instructor if you are not sure which division to compete in.
